Truth About Recruitment: Georgia’s Blog

As I sit down to write this, it’s hard to believe that my time at Ohio University is quickly coming to an end. Four years ago, I came to Athens, eager to be a part of something, but not knowing exactly what was in store for me. Little did I know that joining Alpha Delta Pi would be one of the most transformative experiences of my college career.

My name is Georgia Santino, I’m a senior serving as the Vice President of Recruitment for Alpha Delta Pi, Xi Chapter. Reflecting on my decision to go through the formal recruitment experience, I’m filled with such gratitude for the sisterhood, growth, and leadership opportunities this chapter has provided me.

When I first went through recruitment, I was nervous, like so many are. Would I find a place where I truly belonged? Would I connect with girls? How do you know when you’ve found it? And while yes, it’s cliche, from the moment I walked into the ADPi house, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and authenticity unlike any other. The women I met weren’t just friendly; they were genuinely interested in getting to know me and supporting my journey. I found genuine friends through the recruitment process that I knew I couldn’t live life without. That’s when I knew Alpha Delta Pi was where I was meant to be.

What makes Alpha Delta Pi so special isn’t just the leadership opportunities or the events; it’s the sisterhood. The bonds I’ve formed with my sisters are unlike any other relationships I’ve had in my life. We’ve celebrated each other’s successes, supported one another through hardships, and created countless memories. I can say now in my last year as an active member, I’ve realized these moments truly shape your college experience. Finding not just sisters who I relate to, but even a younger sister I never thought I needed, my little, Tyler. There is something forever bonding about ADPi.

Another one of the rewarding aspects of being in ADPi has been the opportunity to step into this leadership role. Serving as the Vice President of Recruitment has been an incredible experience, allowing me to not only represent our chapter but also help shape the future of our sisterhood. Recruitment is more than just finding new members; it’s about welcoming women into a loving community, made to support them throughout their college journey and beyond. I’ve enjoyed having the opportunity to find ways to show women how special this chapter is to me.

To the women who are considering joining a sorority, I want to say this: Trust your instincts, and be open to the possibilities. Sisterhood is more than just a college experience; it’s a lifelong connection to a community of incredible women.

And to my sisters, both current and future, thank you for making these past four years unforgettable. I’m proud to be an Alpha Delta Pi, and I can’t wait to see where our journey takes us next.

Loyally,
Georgia Santino
